Definitely take all those skirts to the tailor to have them hemmed to knee length, it would be a shame to waste all those cute skirts!

Wow. At first read, I didn't agree. I'm a 5'3 girl with big calves and loves skirts so have a lot of skirts. Thus far, I have chosen A-line skirts that's length end at the widest portion of my calves, thinking that would hide them. After reading your tips, contrary to what I thought, I realize that this length does attract attention to my calves! Any ideas on what I should do with all my skirts of this length while I start collecting knee length skirts?

found this great site www.WideWidths.com and they beat ALL the others by far. First of all, every single boot on their site comes only for wide calves so you don't need to look for 30 minutes and then get frustrated to find either no wide calf boots at all or just one or 2 pairs that won't even zip up. I just got my second pair of boots with a wide calf circumference and I have NEVER been able to find a pair of boots before in my life! They have nice styles that aren't fuddy-duddy either - all the stuff that the skinny calf women are wearing! Their customer service department is great too since they answer you within a few hours and they are very nice and helpful.

Duo boots do a big range of really lovely boots that really do fit those of us with slightly skinnier and also more well endowed calves. I've bought from them before and they deliver quickly as well.

You can see their range here: http://www.duoboots.com/boots.php

These are my particular favourites:

I'd agree with all of this, but ... it's so hard to find knee-length boots that actually fit over the calves if they are already big. I love boots, but I've only found one pair (ever) that I could get to fit over my calves, and even they had to be streatched. Can you recommend any particular brands?
