Finding that special fragrance
November 14th, 2006Selecting the right fragrance is not always easy. You need to live with a scent for a while before you know whether it really works for you. Fragrances are expensive and this can become a costly exercise.
Joey recently shared a comment that is worth repeating so that more people can benefit from the information: Nordstrom will make a handbag sample of the scents that you like for $6.50 each! Forking out $50 instead of $500 is much easier on the pocket. This gives you the opportunity to wear each fragrance for several days so that you can make a more informed decision.
This cost effective and experimental way of finding your scent is an excellent way to maximize the quality of your decision and minimize your dollars spent.

Also, if you are in the market for fragrances you may want to check in with Nordstrom regarding their upcoming fragrance event on 11/24.

Several vendors on eBay also offer samples of fragrances, This is a lovely way to try fragrances that are hard to find. Dragonfly Scent Me (I have no affiliation with this vendor) is my favorite seller. Ava Luxe (again, no affiliation) is an independent perfumer that sells samples of her scents for $2-3 each. Seeking out lesser known scents guarantees you won’t smell like everyone else!

Personnally, I just found my new fragrance for this winter: I’ve just tried the new fragrance of Diesel, which is called Fuel For Life, and it’s amazing! And the bottle is just so cute…
They even made a body lotion and a shower gel, so that you won’t smell different scents… If you want to check it out, go to their website (and they have very cool applications and games on it) at www.diesel-fragrances.com
