Yeah! I'm actually ahead of the power curve on this one. I love red and actually use a red purse as my everyday purse-after 11 years of military life where I could only carry a black purse with no visible logo when I got out a few years ago I decided I needed COLOR.

I am thrilled to bits that red is a staple colour, as it is my favourite one.

I've found the best reds for me, are the very saturated kinds, the deep, crimson reds. I can't wear orange-reds, or yellow-reds. They just look odd on me, and make my olive skin look ashen.

I do however, lust after that gorgeous red bag you featured at the end of your post! I'm on the hunt for the 'perfect' red bag, in the perfect price range. Has to be soft leather so it doesn't make that awful squeaky noise when I carry it, it has to look structured, polished (but not shiny), and with beautiful hardware.. and space of course. ;)

I have discovered that the best re for me is a sort of tomato- the blueish reds just don't work....So there are variation in reds, too...(Sad to say, tomato is harder to find...)

I didn't wear red for 10 years--but thanks to your suggestions--I've got more red shoes in my closet than any other color (not including black). The first red item I bought after my hiatus was a deep red casual jacket. Didn't stop there...I've got tops and camis and even a red trench coat. Thank you for encouraging me to incorporate this color into my wardrobe and I'm grateful to hear it's going to be around for awhile longer.
