Apparentally I am The Skittle – average size bust, slim waist, okay tummy with big thighs and chunky calves (e.g. Halle Berry).

At 66 year of age I am totally confused as to how to dress. All of my life I've had a "style" that was flattering, confident and me. Now I don't, and dressing for any occasion is miserable.

Since having my thyroid removed I have become a size 16 top (L) and 18 bottom. I am only 5'4" and just look dumpy.

My life style is casual as we live in a very hot, dry climate and do a lot of outdoor activities.

I need to know what "look" can an overweight, older lady wear that is both flattering, stylish, and comfortable.

If it matters; I have long light brown to blond hair with blue eyes. I have no wrinkles and look 54., if that helps.

Thank you.

Hmmm....I've never thought of white shoes as matronly. I like the sound of your white kitten thong sandals with a pair of dark blue jeans though - it's that eye-catching contrast I was talking about earlier. Add some colorful toenails (blue or green are my preference at the moment), a mod white handbag and you've got a pulled together Summer look with just about any colour top. How does that sound?

Why is it that white shoes look so matronly? I have a pair of white thong kitten heeled sandals that I never wear because nothing I pair them with works. The only outfit that I've worn them with is a pair of soft grey pants that touch the floor and a white top. (yawn)
