Speaking of accessories, we have a great new one for everyone to try out. It's called the hip-T! It is simply the lower half of your favorite cotton/spandex t-shirt which is about 7.5 inches tall that you wear over your jeans and under the lower half of your t-shirt. This great little wrap sits along the hip and waistband area of jeans and any other lower garment to prevent the "bum cleavage" we all see running around, the thong peaking out at all the wrong moments and at times, the "muffin top". Above all it makes layering so much easier and cooler (literally). Extra cold outdoors, it also works to keep the chilly air from sneaking in under the bottom of your shirt or sweater. Check out the website for colors and a wide range of sizes for girls 10-45+. www.myhip-T.com

I loved this post. I have several beautiful pashminas and I love wearing them as shown in the post. I am also really excited to bring out my burgandy leather chanel bag.

I love the Burberry hat, but I'm not looking to spend $220 on one. Could you perhaps suggest any alternatives that are similar?

I can't wait till it's cool enough for me to comfortably wear my purple newsboy hat! I could wear it now, except that I still can't stand to have my hair down all day and it looks a bit too masculine if I pull my hair back under the hat.

It's a plesaure Christie.

I love hats too Lisa. Wearing hats inside when you are running around like a busy urbanite (rushing around both indoors and outdoors) is great. But when you are indoors to stay ...like at work....I can't see it working.

It's interesting that the Chic ladies in France love scarves. That was my experience in Italy, too (and now I have quite the collection, including some of my own handknitted). In Italy, instead of bulky scarves, the ladies wore the thinner, pashmina/cashmere types sold in open markets everywhere. Italy was a great place to learn about transitioning and accessorizing. Around November, everyone just all of a sudden packs up their summer clothes and linens and pulls out the winter ones. It doesn't matter if it is colder beforehand (excpet maybe in the North--I was in Rome), or if it is warm after. That one day is the (un)official change of season. But even before then, everyone was seen with their chic scarves, usually accompanying a nice tailored blazer/jacket and the omnipresent denim.

Scarves are my one true accessory. I have basically no jewelry save my wedding ring and an expensive pair of earrings I use for special evenings. So as soon as the days start cooling off, out come my collection.

Loved the posts, Ange, thanks so much.

You Look Fab is ome of a very few must-reads for me and this was one of my favorite posts. The bit about the addition of a structured purse made total sense and I never would have thought of it on my own. As well, the idea about adding a scarf before a third piece is new to me and fits beautifully with the hot, steamy Mid-Atlantic climate where I live now. Thanks for all the great ideas!
