Comfy casual flats for Autumn
September 13th, 2007It’s hard to find comfortable shoes, and even harder to find stylish casual flats that aren’t “athletically inspired”. Finding practical and sweet looking shoes that work for situations like looking after small children, commuting on foot, running errands, sight-seeing and shopping, remains a challenge. While there are an abundance of fancy flats and casual flats around, only a handful end up being truly comfortable. Below is an assortment of flat “8-hour” Autumn shoes that have been put through their paces by either myself or my clients. The styles are closed and therefore perfect for crisp Autumn days.

I recently picked up a pair of those Printz charming flats at Aerosoles. I also picked up a pair of their patent loafers which are on sale at the moment. Both are very comfy. Their shoes seem to work consistently with my feet which are rather like a hobbit’s: short and sort of wide.

I was pleased to see that Kohls had a huge rack of $20 flats that came in a ton of colors. I bought a bunch of them and can wear them to work, then to the store, and even to walk the dog. They’re great!

Thank you for showing stylish AND comfortable flats for the Autumn. I will be in HK this Winter and was looking for a great pair of flats - a pair which will take me up to the Peak, out for dim sum and a full afternoon of shopping - not easy to find!

I purchased one of the pairs pictured: the Sofft “Pilar”. I recommend this shoe. It is really comfortable and can be worn all day long. I am wearing this with almost all of my casual outfits. I added heel grips because they hurt the back of my foot.
