There’s also a site a friend of mine introduced me to after she (and her wide calves) found some nice-fitting beautiful boots. It’s called “Duo” and it’s a UK-based company that makes custom-fit boots. They’re a little more expensive, but there is a wide variety of styles and nice if you’re looking for a classic boot to wear often and for a long time.

What about people whose calves are too small for the regular size boots. Is it ok if your boot doesn’t fit your calf perfectly, but sticks out an inch or so from your calf?

I’m with Vanessa! I have small calves and I have such a hard time finding boots that fit my leg properly. Can you maybe post some selections that fit more slim? Thanks!

I have the same problem as Vanessa and Shannon. All of the boots that I try are too big and look unflattering on me. I’d love to find some that actually fit! Any advice? Thanks so much!

I am in the same boat Vanessa, Shannon and Ginger. Finding knee high boots to fit my shapeless calves is a tall order. I wish that I had a definitive answer for you, but it has taken me years to find boots that I love that wrap around my small calves tightly enough. There is a UK site that I know of (and Janine actually mentions it) which caters to both small and big calves:

European boot brands are definitely smaller around the calf area and pull on styles with an insert of elastic are always a good option. My squizz on the high streets of London a few days ago once again confirmed my thinking. It’s quite alright for knee high boots to stick out a centimeter or so away from your calves, but ideally not more then that. Also, tucking jeans into knee high boots is a pleasure if you have a little extra space. You’ll therefore be able to get away with a boot that doesn’t fit as snugly around the calf if you tuck skinny pants into them.
I’ve found that Zappos has a wide assortment of boots for narrow calf measurements. Be sure to look at the measurement that they specify for each style and measure your calf circumference to compare. I ended up having to a pay a little more for my knee high boots in order for them to fit. But it’s been worth every penny and I’m still wearing boots that I bought years ago.

I just found a great pair the other day after posting that they were difficult for me to find. They are Via Spiga “Forde”. They fit great around my calves and are comfortable too! I didn’t buy them on Zappos, but they are there. I don’t know if all the Via Spiga boots run smaller around, but I’ll be looking for this brand more often to find out.

For boots for narrow calves — I’ve had excellent luck with Franco Sarto. Several friends of mine with similarly narrow calves have also cited Franco Sarto, so it’s probably fairly consistent within the brand.

I too have Franco Sarto pull on boots that are snug enough for my narrow calf. But there’s nothing quite like the convenience of zipping yourself into a boot!

I am 5ft 6 1/2 my legs are like chickens…. yes very skinney on the calves and ankles, the only boots I have are two pairs I bought in holland when I was living there, I would buy knee high boots say from Mango and they woud measure my calves , within two weeks I would have customized boots which didn’t cost me much to alter, in swansea they charge at least 40GBP - 50GBP that’s without the cost of a nice pair of boots. can you help Please xx susie

how about a page for us chicken legged people? I’m just a small person: 5′1″, 110 lbs. My calves measure 12″ around. There are so many beautiful boots for wide calves, but I can’t find anything for my tiny little legs. Another problem is that the shaft of the boot is usually too long for me.

Having just read the thread, I can honestly say you are describing me too.. horribly scrawny sparrow legs - let’s just say I don’t get them out too often if I can help it. BUT… I have bought from Duo (mentioned earlier in the thread) and the boots I bought (Toledo - with little heels) and Ravenna which are flat - fit me like a glove. I have read this tread and wanted to let you know of another company called www.hennyjames.co.uk who do the best fitting slim calf boots on the web. I have tried duo and found them to be good but these do fit better and they are cheaper. You should give them a go if you have skinny legs as they are great for the slimmer calf. Duo tend to be quite bit around the ankle and buckles and bows are not they are stocked at www.hennyjames.co.uk. They also do them for wider legs as well and a friend of mine got some and said they were fab so best of luck but give them a go they are highly recommended
