i'm not surprised at all to see forever21 top the list for party clothes. think about it: most girls want a new outfit each time they go to a bar/club/party, and what do they wear? a tight tank top and hot jeans with heels. many women have realized you don't have to spend a lot on a trendy, sexy little top that you'll probably only wear a few times. besides, the clothes go through a lot (smoke filled rooms, sweat, people spilling drinks on you, haha) which is another reason to go cheap...and in the dark, who can tell?

Gap has struggled with their denim fits for a while...and they use to be top notch. I do hope that they get this sorted. Forever 21's clothing is generally shoddy and it's hard to imagine that there was a unanimous vote from the Lucky Readership base about this store...in fact I can still scarcely believe it!

there are more interesting ways to do "basics" than the way gap does them. some of their stuff this season is pleasantly surprising, but i would much rather turn to michael stars or rebecca beeson for tees that are basic but still have visual interest. i find gap's denim awful. there's always some kind of weird whiskering going on and it just doesn't fit me well. and all those "reverse fit" and tapered jeans?!?! uggghhh.

interesting to see how lucky's readers differ from the fashion industry. it looks as though (surprise!) lucky readers actually take MONEY into account! i'm surprised forever 21 even made the list though, especially for party wear. i find their clothes oddly sized even for juniors, and extremely shoddy quality. i can't imagine showing up to a party in something from there.
