I have a long black silk ball skirt. Can I wear this with a jacket or blouse to a black tie event?

This is a good point Antje. If the jacket is more like a top, it's nice to close the jacket entirely with a skirt. It's more formal that way.

Cute jackets. One question: You often talk about leaving jackets open when wearing them with pants, for a long lean line. The jackets in the pictures are all buttoned up, and I wonder if an open jacket works with skirts. What's your guidance on that? Thanks :-)
