The best and worst celebrity dresses of 2007
December 31st, 2007It was the “year of the dress” and I’d like to conclude 2007 with my best and worst frocks of the year:
Best:
- Nicole Kidman in her red Balenciaga gown at the Oscars. She was a walking work of art that night.
- Reese Witherspoon in her short canary yellow Nina Ricci number at the Golden Globes, because it was so unexpectedly fresh, young and sassy. The red shoes that accompanied her outfit stole the show.
Worst:
- Mary-Kate Olsen in what looked like a Grecian table cloth gone terribly wrong at an Aids Fundraiser in NYC .
- Jessica Simpson in her preppy check mini dress that left nothing to the imagination.
My award for worst celebrity look for 2007 goes to Kirsten Dunst at the premier of Spiderman 3. She wore an awfully unflattering combination of separates. The colour, choice of silhouette, shoes and stockings of this outfit left me speechless. I hope that Kirsten’s style quotient is back on track next year.

I totally agree with your choices! Loved Reese’s aubergine Nina Ricci dress she wore at the Oscars too.

I agree w/ Laurel re: that aubergine dress of Reese’s.. she’s such an icon for me

I loved Reese’s deep purple dress that she wore to the Oscars as well…but loved her cheeky yellow frock even more! Reese Witherspoon gets my award for 2007’s most consistently fab red carpet look. I absolutely adore her stick straight blonde hair and fringe (bangs). Her style quotient sky rocked this year.

OK…I don’t really follow the Hollywood thing, but I can’t help but wonder about these people. I bet there is some acheivement or aspiration to be on a worst dressed list somewhere. These people pay other people to make them look good. How can they walk out he door with a zombie eye treatment? Or dressed like the grandmother on the Waltons? Is it just their way of getting mentioned and noticed in the tabloids? No publicity is bad publicity?
Personally, I like to look at real people in the real world for inspiration.

You have made an interesting point Nicole!

My God, does Kirsten Dunst have a friggin’ mirror? I see crack hoes on the corner who have more class.
Reese is looking simply smashing, always. Kidman needs to put the botox on the backburner, she’s looking very fake.
Happy New Year!
