This is a great resolution Tammy. An expensive pair of fab jeans is worth every penny and will last you a while if you take care of them. By all means buy two of the same, but wait till you've worn and washed the first pair to make sure that they are "the" ones.

My resolution is to find the perfect pair of jeans and to not be scared of the price tag. Inexpensive jeans just don't compliment a body as nicely as a more pricey pair. My goal is to find the right pair then buy two! Happy New Year, Angie!

I resolve to buy clothes and stuff I actually would wear...also add more color with proper use of accessories to my basic black, gray, blue and red wardrobe! Thanks for the wonderful ideas from your site, this should be a more colorful year for me!

This year I need to get a grip on fall and winter. I was raised in Texas where the weather changes are not that noticeable and so I have never been able to get in to what I perceive as "ugly" fall and winter fashions. I've lived in the mountains for 7 years and it just gets worse every year. I just got back from a trip to New Mexico and realized at the last minute that I would have been better off with a pair of UGGs. Not because everyone else was wearing them, but because it was hard to walk around in my regular boots. Also, I tend to buy things either too early or at the last minute and always overestimate what I have. The season starts then I feel stupid when I need more of a certain item and things are starting to sell out.

Like others have said, my fashion resolution for 2008 is to purge my closet of old clothes. I'm one of those girls who stopped growing at age 12. Now at 22 I'm still 5'2'' and about the same size that I was in junior high, but a few pounds lighter. Consequently, I have many pieces in my closet that have been hanging here for 6-10 years that I hardly ever wear anymore. My closet is packed, but half of it is things I wear once a year at the most. I look awful in those old outfits, but for some reason I haven’t made myself get rid of many of them. Good by old frumpy clothes. Make way for the new. :)

I am ashamed to admit this...but my new year's resolution is to quit biting my nails. It's an awful, unsightly habit that I can't seem to kick for good. :(

Here's to making 2008 our most fab year yet!

These are wonderful fashion and style resolutions ladies and you've mentioned issues that I feel strongly about. It's important to continually purge your closet, to rather have fewer better-end items than a whole slew of cheap things, to refrain from buying sale items unless they absolutely work for you and finally, to actually wear what's in your wardrobe.

Paying attention to your dominant season is crucial. It's especially hard to do this when for example, you love Summer clothes but live in a cold climate and vice versa.

Nicole, you are in luck. Spring 2008 is extremely colourful and the collections are in stores early this year. Have fun experimenting with new colours.

Christie, our husbands need a little help if they battle with their wardrobes on their own. I'm happy to hear you are lending your stylish hand.

Patricia, I'm impressed with your "holding back and saving scenario". 6-8 months might be a little long though. Remember that the best merchandise for a fashion season comes out in the middle of that period (March and April for Spring/Summer and September/October for Autumn/Winter), and that there are four big sales a year. It might be better to consider a 4 month hold back period instead. That way you'll get a full variety of what a fashion season has to offer, and cash in on the odd bargain.

I plan on continually purging my closet of pieces I don't love by always applying the in-out rule. Every time I purchase a top, I get rid of one. I will also begin following the sound advice of French women who tend to buy fewer pieces but at high quality and hence they keep their clothes forever. So in order to do this, it means that I can't be continually buying items every couple of weeks. Instead, I will try to hold out for 6 or 8 months and in the meantime I will put aside a set amount each month so when the 6 or so months are up, I can blow the entire amount on great pieces and not feel guilty about it. Planning is key of course but the French seem to do it so effortlessly.
This will definitely free up my closet of 'crappy' clothes and will make getting ready in the morning a breeze...Simplicity & Elegance is the way to go for 2008!
