One week to pretty feet
January 24th, 2008My feet feel dry and rough a lot of the time. I don’t like to have pedicures, which makes keeping them soft and pretty a tall order. So after years of trying foot product after foot product, I’ve finally stumbled across a brand that works well for me. It’s Nexcare’s “advanced foot cream” and it starts to work its magic after about one week of use. I apply it once a day (twice if I can remember) and it has softened the heels and soles of my feet beautifully. It’s fast absorbing, non-greasy, ultra moisturizing and dirt cheap at $11.
You’ll find Nexcare’s advanced foot cream at most drugstores.

I’ve tried scads of products (Freeman, GoldBond, Pretty Feet, Dr Scholls, Palmers Cocoa Butter, Bag Balm, even a product formulated for diabetics), but not this one. Thanks for the tip, so appreciate it. Will definately give it a whirl.

I will definately try that product. I suffer from dry cracked heels. I do the pedi thing in the summer–which definately helps. And in the winter, I do my own pedis. I found this tool at the drug store. It has a rasp on one side and a file on the other. It sounds like it would be painful, but if the skin on your foot is thick and calloused, it doesn’t hurt at all. It actually feels good. I use the rasp side and then wash my feet and apply lotion. I have to do this rasping at least once a week in the winter–or my feet will start to crack. I will pick up some of the cream and use it after I use the rasp.

I hope that you get as much joy out of this product as I do ladies. It’s become part of my daily moisturizing routine. It definitely helps if you apply twice a day and you need to give it a week to really see the results. My feet are too sensitive to have someone else give me a pedicure so I end up trying to do it myself. I too use a foot file and am a fan of the product.
I’ve tried most of the products you’ve mentioned Joey and none of them were as effective.

Ooohhhh I must try this! I love trying out new products.
Another great product for feet is the Earth Therapeutics Gardner’s Hand Repair.
I know it’s supposed to be for your hands but it does wonders for feet. It actually rubs the dead skin off your feet…..gross I know but your feet are so smooth afterwards!

Cheers.

Awesome! Thanks for the tip. I’ll give it a try. My feet have taken a turn for the worse since turning 39 and I’m almost embarrassed to get a pedicure. I’ll try the Nexcare lotion for a while and get them looking better and then go in for a pedi

Angie, where did you find this product?
P.S. I used to use the rasp (fine cheese grater like thing) until I discovered the large crystal nail file. These are fabulous not only for leaving you with smooth nails, but smooth heels. Get the large, soak feet, get the file wet then “file” rough spots. It’s the best!

I bought this product at Bartell’s Drugstore. Where did you buy your large crystal nail file?

Thank you. I’ll go to Bartell’s. I’ve purchased crystal nail files in a couple of places. Most recently from here: www.95andsunny.com.
