i have a small forehead but a very long face. I am debating whether to get bangs or not. I love the way they look on some people but i am scared that since i have a small forehead then the bangs would be too short. And also i have curly hair but it is a but straight in the top, it is somewhat wavy. Will my bangs get wavy if i cut them?

I have bangs, but have questioned whether to keep them as I age. I wonder if they aren't emphasizing the bags under my eyes as well as my eyes! I wear bangs to shorten my long face and forehead; I reckon they are the female equivalent of a moustache, which was what my father wore to shorten his long face.

Quite right. I do wear specs and I have a fringe. My fringe does not form a curtain over my forehead though. It's semi off to the side, very layered and quite short so there is ample space for my specs. My eyebrows are completely visible and the fringe does not touch my specs. I hope that makes sense and thank you for your lovely compliment.

You wear glasses right? I'm curious as to what advice you'd give someone who both has the fringe and wears glasses (chunky black plastic frames). Should I keep my bangs above or below my glasses? If they are a certain length, they just hit the glasses and swoop up in this ridiculous little curl-like thing. What do you think?

By the way, I'm loving your blog ever since I found it via Musings of a Housewife.

I'm growing rather tired of this bangs trend. It goes on an on for 4-5 years now. On the side, longer, shorter, fuller, thinner, no matter the face shape, every one's going for bangs lately. Worse now since the bob mania is spreading allover, all those who thought couldn't manage a fringe because of face shaping incompatibility switch for the bob and bangs because it's the latest trend sported around.

I had bangs growing up, and grew them out in college. After sporting a very plain Jane earthy crunchy look for a few years, I went back to bangs. That was the only period in my life I didn't wear bangs. I didn't even realize that things like bangs went in and out of style. I just thought that it was somethng you either looked good in or not. The same way I wouldn't wear an article of clothing that wasn't flattering on me just beause it was in style, I wouldn't wear a hairstyle that didn't look good on me just because it was in style.

I have a very high forehead and side swept bangs (like Reese's only a little thicker) fix that beautifully. I tried without for awhile, but nope...they had to come back. Not sure if I could ever go back to full forehead fringe though, since I had them growing up, but it works for some people.

I’m rather pessimistic about there being a good way for everyone to wear fringe. I wore my hair like Katie’s for the fist 11 years of my life. And I don't think I'd ever go back to bangs. They make my head look round and my already small forehead look non-existent.

I've worn variations of bangs for years because they look good on me. So glad to know I'm "in style" now! LOL!

Amominredheels, I've also had what you describe and I thoroughly enjoyed that look too. I was never a huge fringe fan, but I have become one precisely for the reasons you have mentioned. There is a type of fringe for everyone and the look doesn’t need to be as dramatic as the ones in the pictures.
