Nordstrom Sale: insanely comfy bootie

July 21st, 2008

Booties have become completely mainstream for Autumn and Winter. They are the perfect closed heeled shoe between a pump and a boot. Pop them under a pair of slacks or any leg width of denim and it’s like magic. Versatile, simple chic at its best.

Franco Sarto makes an affordably good shoe. Their bootie at this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is fabulous. Its synthetic, stretchy, zip-front upper is pure brilliance. It makes the shoe uber soft, comfortable and just like a slipper. It stretches as you walk and closes tightly against the foot, making it extra flattering. The anti-slip rubber sole is great for wet weather and the chunky heel is stable and manageable at two and a half inches.

The mock crock, embossed, faux patent bootie is available in dark brown or black. It runs from a size 6 to 13 and is available in narrow and wide widths. Come on ladies, it doesn’t get better than that at a whopping $64.90 Anniversary sale price until August 4. I highly recommend giving this bootie a bash while stocks last.

I waited all season last year for an interesting and comfortable bootie with a two inch heel. I can’t believe my luck. I bought the black and inserted an insole for increased comfort. The stretchy upper is key. You’ll find two plainer Franco Sarto bootie styles at the Nordies Sale, but they’re sans the stretchy bit and hence less comfy. I also prefer the mock crock toe because it packs a cheeky punch when it peeps through from under a pair of boot cuts. Don’t judge the aesthetic entirely on this picture alone. They look better first hand, and you’ll be sold once they’re on your foot.

I like them and am seriously considering them. Hopefully they won’t sell out in 10 days.

I’ll be in kansas city over the weekend, which has a Nordstrom’s…how long does the anniversary pricing last?

Ahh, I was so inspired to put my money down on those shoes only to find that they do not come in my 12W shoe size. What is a big footed girl to do? The selection is soooo limited. Ah well, they will be cute on the feet of others

The black pair are definitely on my list!

I ordered them online last nite :-) Will report back…

I might have to check these out!! I actually don’t have a bootie that is comfortable and could use a really wearable black croc pair! Thanks for the recommendation, Angie!

Sadly - I missed these at the sale this weekend but was lucky to find the “Born Kala” boots. They seem to be pretty versatile but still on the casual side - which is ok for me. There are also a pair of Michael Kors booties on sale that are very reasonable and pretty comfy - but they lost out (for me) because the “fancy heel” also made it a bit wibbly. Wibbly doesn’t work when carrying precious cargo…
Angie - I need to remember to read your blog BEFORE hitting the Nordy’s Sale!

Two inch heels is a bit too high for me, but I do love these. I love Franco Sarto boots - most of mine are that brand. They fit my feet well. I like that these have the stretch material and don’t go up too high around the ankle, which always annoys me.

Would these work with skirts in the fall?

    Angie,
You are my kind of shoe shopper! This shoe has all the ingredients I look for each fall. I’m getting black and brown and my feet will love you.

Very good-looking booties! I love this style of shoe because with jeans or long pants you look like you’re wearing boots without having to deal with the tall shaft, which I tend to find uncomfortable and stiff.

I scored a pair of booties last year on clearance at Kohl’s thinking “Wow, these are ugly.” But underneath pants they are a perfect shoe! I also have a pair of tan Franco Sarto t-strap wedges that are SO cute and comfy. Excellent brand.

[…] months ago – she looked so trim and smashing in her Matchsticks. Sihaya stylishly paired the Franco Sarto booties from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale with ultra skinnies. Naf looked radiant in red, black and white and wore an amazing necklace. […]
