horrible picture alert

Well I was going to ask you guys if it was worth keeping these pants (the zip is broken) which I quite liked. My daughter leaped up on me as I was taking it and revealed this horrible angle. If there was any doubt in my mind that I am a pear shape, this pic removes it!

Your daughter is adorable And the photo is not horrible at all, you are too harsh on yourself. I think you can do much better than these pants. They are bit too short as well, so I'd let them go.

Thanks for the encouragement Tanya. The trousers are definately too short according to PPL. Incidentally I just read this in this Times Online article on fashion trends. What do you think of the 7/8 trend it predicts Angie

That is not a horrible picture. You look good, it's the pants that look bad. This is a good example of a pair of pants working against you. We've all been there.
Your daughter is so cute. You are so lucky to have these precious years with a little girl. My baby girl is 30 now!

That photo does not make you look pear shaped, Anne. You can't even see the top half of you, to compare the top to the bottom. I don't care for the pants though--they remind me of Austin Powers.

I keep forgetting you're in winter in Austrailia--I remembered it when I noticed how warm and snuggly your daughter was dressed.

I guess I meant my bottom half looks very curvy!

My daughter doesn't stay in her dressing gown for very long, but she had just come out of her bath and was very cold. Our house is quite cold - we don't have central heating and I rarely turn our gas heater on. I was cold in that photo - I had only put on the singlet top as it was the closest to the right top length -- not that that was visible anyway

Brave - you mean the temperature Angie? It wasn't that cold maybe about 16 or 17 C. But our heater runs on bottled gas which is extremely expensive so we just put our jumpers and slippers on (and okay sometimes parkas and beanies) except at the colder nights or when we have visitors. The middle of the day are quite clear and sunny at the moment, so the house warms up then.

Angie, did you want to respond about the 7/8 pants

Everyone - - the pants will go. They certainly don't warant alteration costs
