THEME WEEK, DAY 5: mrs white gives me some trouble.

sigh. i'm not all that happy with today's outfit - mrs white proved to be difficult to fit into my plans. but! i'm comfortable, and i look decent - or at least, i hope you think so!

Aw, I love that flower belt! Have a good trip.

When I think Mrs. White, I think housekeeper -- complete with the starched ruffly apron. I can't wear an actual apron to work, of course, but I do have this fab old F&T white button-down with a red-eyelet-lace placket on the front and sleeves. It's a pretty loud shirt so I don't wear it often, but I toned it down with a white cardigan. Unfortunately, the shirt has hit the too-large size, but I went with it anyway for its swan song wearing. (I am considering shrinking it on purpose in the laundry so I can keep it...)

I tried to tie in Mrs. White, the housekeeper (older version) with the more modern Mrs. White as she has been portrayed in the recent years. Little black, little white, little denim, some ruffle detail and of course her signature pearls.

My picture taking was resulting in consistent blurriness so I asked hubby to take some for me. And Boi (yes..LOL, that is what he was called when we rescued him so we decided to keep it to not confuse him) just sauntered by and settled down in the frame.

As is evident from the pictures, I need a new bra. The band keeps hiking up and I hate how it makes my bust look all droopy. Not to mention I have to deal with adjusting it surrounded by men. I will be popping into Nordstroms for a professional fitting this weekend hopefully. Chantelle seems to be popular here in the forums. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

I love all the variety, even though several of us had the same idea with the white ruffles!

Kari: the skirt is terrific, and I love the "Hint" about Col. Mustard!

Niva: Love the pearls with the denim! Boi is adorable -- a natural in front of the camera! Hope the bra fitting goes well; it's always astonishing to me how better everything looks after one of those.

Sarah: are your legs actually 8 miles long, or is that just jeans? *g*

Bella: I would be shocked if anyone mistook you for a waitress! You look as fab as always.

Lou: I can see why you got so many compliments -- you DO look slim! It's amazing how a simple white t-shirt can really make us look so great; maybe that's why it's such a classic.

Anne: that is a GREAT outfit! Love the summery color of the skirt, the way you can tell it flows so nicely as you walk, and how happy you look in it! You look wonderful!

Hanna, I love your belt. I don't think your outfit looks boring at all. I am having a great time with the Clue Theme game you came up with. It is fun seeing how everyone is incorporating their white today.

The Seattle weather complete accommodated the theme today. I was able to wear white jeans, a purple and white sleeveless cowl neck top from Express that Angie blogged about, and a white cardigan.

Very few white jeans and loads of white shirts. I can live with that. But consider white jeans or a white denim skirt gals – you won’t be disappointed.
