What a frustrating start to the day Hanna.
Here is my Prof Plum. I wore it on Thursday, to playgroup, but saved it up for now because of the purple top (I don't know the cluedo characters so was just going with the colour)

Hanna, I am giggling because I had much the same morning. I think we were just a little TOO into character!

Love the whole package; the brown belt is an especially nice touch. It softens the purple and brings out the pretty lace of the camisole.

Anne, wow, I am usually not a fan of long skirts, but you look absolutely TERRIFIC in yours! I think it's the shorter length of the leather jacket that makes it work so well. Love the purple and the necklace together.

Here is my Professor Plum: I finally get to break out the plum mesh-knit top I got at ATL a while back! I'm linking to 2 different versions of the same pictures; one with the top as it is and one with the hem length folded under. I think it does need to get a little cut off the bottom. What do you guys think?

You guys are too much fun! Thanks for sharing your plum outfits. Professor Plum was always one of my favorite Clue characters but I always imagined him a bit younger and handsomer, maybe that's why!!

Hanna, Wow! One look at you and I would have had no idea you had such a frazzled morning had you not told us. So pretty,yummy purples there! I really like the patterned skirt. Another fabulous outfit!

Here's my, very laid back outfit. I have this beautiful plum tunic my mother got stitched from scratch for me in India. But the tailor messed it up and it looks awful by itself. I tried to pair it with a light brown cardi and a necklace with some green beads. There is some plum and some green in the shoes I'm wearing so hopefully things look a little tied together. Please excuse the bed hair. I have been feeling thoroughly wiped from my workouts and mother nature and overslept.

The last two were taken in a dressing room at Target, where I was experimenting with my hair up. Excuse the low resolution, my phone's camera sucks. Which looks better with the outfit, hair up or down? A colleague I asked (female :-D) say it looks better in person with the hair up.

I'm so sad theme week is over Now I have to plan my outfits entirely from my imagination...there's another challenge for me!

Hanna- what a great outfit with lots of interesting details!
Kristen - I think that top caught my eye the very first time you posted it. It looks fabulous on you.
Niva- I don't have the words to express how wonderful that outfit is. I would steal it from you and wear it myself. I like it hair down. Btw, I realized that I look younger when I wear my hair up like that. something to keep in mind when choosing hair style.

Thanks Hanna for coming up with this idea and to all the ladies who played along. It was a lot of fun. I am looking forward to the next challenge!

kristen, i am loving that top, but those SHOES. i die. i may have to steal them. also, i prefer the top long, actually, for that loose tunic-y vibe. but that's just me!

bella, such a preppy, professorial plum! a cord blazer over a sweater is actually a favorite combo of mine, and i LOVE the mix of plum and pink. so deelish.

niva, if i could steal that tunic from you, i would in a heartbeat!

LOL, thank you angie! i quite like purple, though i wouldn't call it a favorite by any stretch - but i am very much into most colors you can find on the spectrum, so chances are any color you mention, i've got it in my closet!

i'm putting some thought into coming up with more challenges - a 'favorite literary character come to life' challenge, an outfit based on your favorite song or nursery rhyme, picking one trend you wore in your childhood/teens and making it work with your current style, a 'give up your style crutch for a week' challenge, whether that's jeans, or cardigans, or whatever. any of those sound appealing? i have lots more ideas!

One suggestion for those of us who are new to this - maybe for the next challenge you could consider just doing one day a week, or maybe just announce the challenge a week in advance? I'm definitely slow at this, I would need some time to plan....

Medusa, I actually posted about the challenge a week or so before we started, then posted a reminder the day before. Things move so quickly on this forum though! That's why I tried to make whatever "rules" we had as flexible as possible. I'm sure there'll be more challenges so I hope you'll be able to join in the fun next time!

Thanks for the wonderful words everyone! This is the outfit where everything went wrong. LOL. I had planned the outfit a week in advance as this is one color I was absolutely sure I had something in. Come yesterday morning, I couldn't find the wooden bangle I wanted to pair the necklace with, a cropped brown jacket I had intended to wear with the tunic looked all wrong and I couldn't find the black tights I wanted to try the tunic with. I'm glad it worked so that I can bring that tunic into everyday rotation. It is very comfortable in FL humidity and heat.

Bella - I do wear that jacket all the time. It is pleather, and fits perfectly. I have had it at least 7 years and it is cracking around the arms and collar, so I'd like to replicate but haven't seen any quite like it.

Here's my Prof Plum. I wore it on Tues but didn't have a chance to post until now. I'll confess that as I was working 15 hours that day I dressed more for comfort than the character. Still managed to sneak some plum in though
